In the past 24 hours

Yesterday, my brother told me that he would buy it (this dress) for me (well he told me a couple of days ago but he was going to buy it for me YESTERDAY).
I went ballistic afterwards whilst searching for the dress online.
As I was scrolling down, ready to click "BUY", I noticed that ALL THE SMALL SIZES WERE GONE.
SOLD OUT.
That was when I cried.
(Just kidding, I didn't actually cry, but it would've been funny if I did)

So anyways, my brother told me to email the site to see if they had any more coming.
AND
Good news everyone!
I might be getting my dress very soon!

They emailed me back this morning:

WEEEEEEEEEE!!

In other news: I lost $22 because I was expecting to go paintballing with friends. However, I don't think I can attend now and it was a no refunds thing. Sucks. I'll get over it though - because I'm GETTING MY DRESS!

So to catch up on other events...
It's been the easter holidays for me, so I've had a couple of days off so far. (One week and a few days). I haven't been doing much recently (I know that's bad) but yeah. I've been out with my brother alot (another one) and I had Jenny and Dals over for a movie marathon/opshopping day. I also got bangs (yeah, I was sick of my side fringe). That's about it. Oh and I went to the easter show and bought a "Summer Heights High" bag and "The Hoff" bag. Both had cool tshirts and mugs.

I've taken some pictures of the things that Jenny, Dals and I grabbed from the op shops. (Some of the photos do the clothes NO JUSTICE AT ALL - I'm sorry. I was just trying to take them as quickly as possible)

I deleted my last post

because I didn't really find it very interesting.
I think I should've kept whatever I wrote in my last entry to myself and if you did read it, well then... I guess you can stop hating me now because I took it off :)
I have a couple of things to say:
I just watched Forrest Gump and yes, I loved it.
I clicked on this button on this website to email me with updates and it DOESN'T give me updates. So basically, I have to go back to the site regularly and check if there's anything new (WHICH THERE WAS!!!!)
And... I just wanted to say that I hate facebook emails that tell me when someone I don't know has commented on a picture, video or post that I was tagged in or even when someone comments after a comment that I had previously made. It's just annoying. When you go onto Facebook, you get that "notification" anyways. What's with the emails Facebook??

I think the emails should only be sent when YOU ACTUALLY CLICK A BUTTON FOR UPDATES!

Things that shouldn't inspire you.

I caught Lords of Dogtown last night on tv.
It was on pretty late, after Scrubs and I was pretty psyched because my friend recommended the movie because it's a good one and I'm pretty much in love with Emile Hirsch.
So yeah, when I found out that it had JUST started, I literally screamed because I was so excited.
What a coincidence! We had just spoken about it like a week ago and I was even planning to go and rent out the dvd - Oh well, lucky I didn't rent it before I saw it on TV or else I would've been quite bummed out haha.

Anyways, I really loved it. It was great. And no it'd not only because Emile Hirsch was in it, I didn't even like his character THAT much, but I still liked him in it. I quite liked Stacey's character, I guess I'm a sucker for those nice boys ;)

Today, I watched the season finale of skins :( It was a good ending I think. I don't know what everyone else thinks but I read a few comments saying that they were disappointed that the old characters didn't come in for a guest appearance. That's pretty unrealistic. How random would it be if one of them just came into their lives? But I guess it would've been good if at least one of them made an appearance in it. Oh well.
I'll miss it. What am I supposed to watch now??

Tonight, I went to rent out some movies with my sister before we went out for a small snack and some dessert. We rented out Pineapple Express because SURPRISINGLY we BOTH haven't watched it (even though I would've watched anything with seth rogen and james franco as soon as possible - I never got around to watching Pineapple Express).
We just watched it about 20 minutes ago and I must say, we both nearly wet our pants. It was HILARIOUS - I know, we're practically guys if we can laugh at stupid things from that movie. I just want to say that I loved it. To anyone who has already seen it: Seth Rogen's ear and Herpes. (INSERT a bunch of giggling here)

Anyways I guess I should explain my blog entry title. "things that shouldn't inspire you" I guess it's not what inspires me, it's the thing that I'm inspired to do.

After watching Lords of Dogtown, I've been wanting to wear a bandana like Emile haha. My brother actually bought two a few weeks ago and he asked me what colours to buy, I said purple (for various reasons) and he got it. I guess I could wear the purple one haha. I think if I did actually wear one like Emile, I would probably be bashed to death by a group of asian gangsters. Please! WHY CAN'T I BE AS COOL AS EMILE?? "BECAUSE! You're a girl! HAVE SOME DIGNITY!" Oh fine.

Here's a funny picture that I took tonight. At the place we bought our dessert (icecream). I saw it as soon as we walked in and cracked up. I told my sister about it and we had a laughing fit for about 10 long minutes and everyone probably thought we were high or something. So anyways, she told me to take a picture but the guy behind the counter would've told me off so I had to hide my camera on the side of my clutch, as you will see on the left side of the picture. I think he saw though, so I stared at my camera screen as if I was confused and focussed on what was going on so that he wouldn't tell me off. Anyways... here it is:



P.S. You might not find that as funny as I did. But it was so typical for the place we were in (YOU MIGHT SAY that it was a place owned by asians. Don't say I'm racist. I'm asian as well! - Okay maybe I am a bit racist against asians haha)
P.P.S. Earlier, I saw a shop sign with the name "Knobs and Knockers" on it. I wanted my sister to drive back so I could take a picture but she wouldn't go back. I guess that's why she told me to take a picture of the one above!

What I do when procrastinating.

I had my first half yearly exam today.
It was english, and I think I did okay in it.
I'm not really sure. I spent the whole time writing and by the end of it my hand was cramping.
I have two exams tomorrow, SOR and Ancient History.
There is so much things to remember for Ancient that I don't know if I'll be able to do the exam properly.
Oh well. Wish me luck!

Just a random thing.
I wrote a couple of verses but I don't like any of it.
It mostly just sounds really cliche.
There's only one line that I actually like.

I didn't know us Australian's had our own language hehe.
I went to the optometrist today to get my eyes checked.
My vision has gone up by .5 and I'm going to get new lenses for my glasses.
I'm so excited because I've been waiting forever to see clearly! ♥

Oh I think I'm going to get contacts as well.
I'm trying them on tomorrow (Yes - I'm going again tomorrow to fix my glasses)

Genna and I had been talking about going to The Presets' concert for a couple of weeks now.
I wasn't actually sure if I wanted to go.
I have their album but I only go to concerts when I'm absolutely in LOVE with the musician.
Pre-sale tickets were sold yesterday, and general sale was sold today.
I informed Genna about this and then she went absolutley mental.
Getting all excited and that.
I was helping her out with details, but it wasn't for me, it was for her.

Anyways.
At school today, Genna asked her sister if she needed tickets.
She then spent quite a while trying to convince me to go with her.
We then spent the whole day walking back and forth wondering how to get the tickets.
At the end of lunch, Genna found me and said she had bought the tickets - using her Iphone. (!!!)
Anyways, there was a bit of a problem because we thought the tickets were going to be sent to her account through her phone, which would mean that we couldn't print it.
The problem was fixed when we each got home and saw that the tickets were sent to her email.
We then spent the rest of the arvo screaming over the FaceBook chat and I proceeded to print out the tickets for all 6 of us!

I'm so excited now!
It'll be so fun!
Also - I'm looking forward to seeing architecture in helsinki as the support act!

Just hey

I have some exams coming up before I finish the term.
How is everyone? And yeah, I guess I'm talking to no one at the moment because everyone's busy right now. By the way, who checks a blog for new posts after a long period of nothing?

I saw someone on YouTube with their username as "iftba".
Hehe... it's pretty clever, so I want to steal it :)
For those who don't know, it comes from the acronym DFTBA! Which stands for Don't forget to be awesome and yeah, you get the point.

I just wanted to say that... I love Skins! Even if there's a new cast!
I love the new songs that it gives to me.
I'm currently listening to a couple of songs that I just heard from the most recent episode and it's so great to listen to new music. It really is!

Anyways, I just wanted to write a little bit because it's getting really lonely. This blog I mean.
I recently went to a childhood friend's 18th birthday party (That means there's only another 9 months until im 18! Wee!).
It was a dress up. The people I knew that were going went full out.
Because it was Friday the 13th, her birthday, it was the theme.
Of course, I couldn't think of anyone better to dress up as than Beetlejuice!
Unfortunately, my family usually goes all out when we go to dress up parties so I actually looked really freaky. I'm not sure if I'll post pictures up.

Dear reader,
I'm sorry that you've had to wait quite a while for a new blog entry, but year 12 is tough. There's heaps of work to do and I cannot simply abandon my school work to entertain your lovely self. I'm sorry, but you'll just have to wait for my spurs of creativity to come up at random intervals. You are quite lucky to be hearing from me this week, just to point that out to you. I've been deprived from sleep because of the amount of work I have to do for my last year of high school. Blame the system!

I am working towards a career in radio and also band promotion. So hopefully when I am a successful radio host and am married to a famous rockstar, I'll have more interesting things to write about.

Ahh it's finally the weekend!
It's only been the third (technically second) week of school and I'm having sleep withdrawal.
Year 12 is really hectic.

Vy's birthday was yesterday.
She turned 27 yay.
We went out to dinner as a family and it was yum yum.
Today is Valentines day and it doesn't really feel any different.
Except more relaxing I guess.

I've been watching Gilmore Girls all day.
It's good.
Karla sent a group of us this Vday ecard which is really cute ♥

What made my day was that I was listening to my mp3 player and the last song was The Kooks - Sway and then I switched it to Nova and then they were playing the end of Sway... which is WEIRD because Nova doesn't play The Kooks.. like ever! So yeah. It was a good type of weird.

I know this blog entry is really really short and brief...
but yeah.

Um so today is Monday.
It's actually my "STUDY DAY".
We have every second Monday's off to study or otherwise go to school or excursions if the teachers organise things with us.
What's good about my timetable is that tomorrow I have a double free tomorrow, so I get to sleep in a little bit :)

So year 12 has been very hectic over the past WEEK.
I know it's barely started but I have set some goals for myself and it's really hard to handle all of this stuff at once.
I have school photos on friday and I'm terribly scared because I hate taking them.
This year's photos are REALLY important because they put the individual photos of the year 12 girls in the actual year book. So... if mine is terribly ugly, I might have to kill myself.
That is why I've been practising my smiles in the mirror. :D :) :].. D:

My sisters birthday is also on Friday and we're going to this restaurant and splurging *excites*
It's our naughty day :D
Yesterday we had one... which was bad.
We had monaco bars and then we went to Stella's house (Vy's friend) and we swam with her and her kids. (who were lovely!)
and then we had chicken and chips D:
I loved their family. They were really hilarious.
We ended the night with spontaneous outbursts of dancing and copying eachothers crazy moves! Heheh.

I have heaps of important birthdays coming up.
And I don't know what to say about Valentine's Day.
My sister, friends and I are going to the moonlight cinemas by ourselves to celebrate and watch Bride Wars.

First days back at school

On Thursday, I came back to school for about 2 hours to chat to the new Year 7 girls in my house.
We played some name games, so Katie, Matilda, Angela and I were supposed to learn the names. I failed. The rest were really good at learning the girls' names but I just couldn't get them stuck in my head.
I cheated :) because I knew one of the girls from primary so I kept calling out her name hahaha.

Anyways, I had my first day back at school yesterday (FRIDAY).
It just felt like normal, except I had a new homeroom to go to and a new locker.
I think it's because I didn't get any new teachers that it felt just the same because we're just continuing with last terms classes.
It feels a bit weird though, because I'm in Year 12 and yeah... we're the ones that the younger girls look up to (I guess?).

AND also...
Angela surprised me with 6 balloons on sticks which were very hard to hold together.
Everyone kinda figured that it was my birthday, well at least it was sometime ago (IS IT YOUR BIRTHDAY?? No... my birthday was in the holidays. Oh!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!).
She also made me a poster of which I LOVE.
Thankyou for going through all that trouble to make it :)

Whilst in the shower, I thought that I should set up a few goals for this year (As you do when you're in the shower).
And so far, these are my goals:
1. Get a UAI above 94.2 (To get into my course at UTS)
2. If 1 fails, get above 90.
3. Get a Silver Award
4. Get a Gold Award
5. Get above 85% for the rest of my assessments this year.
6. Get to know most of the girls in Fitzroy, and other houses.
7. Lose weight. (!!!MUST STICK TO DIET!!!)

That's about it so far.
It's mostly about school so yeah.
I'll be working hard this year to achieve the goals, so I don't know if I'll have alot of time to blog. I'll definitely try and blog during the weekends though! :)

Dreams

I had a dream about two YouTubers.
I was talking to them online??
Hahaha. And I was going to a new school and one of them went with me and we hung out? Wow. Very exciting dream!

Anyways, I just wanted to declare that there will be less blog entries because:
A) I should be focussing on my HSC this year. (THREE TERMS LEFT OF SCHOOL! D:)
B) If I don't get the UAI marks I need to get into my course, I will cry.
C) That's about it.

I will probably blog from time to time...
but I'll have less time to do so.

I am currently capped ALREADY! I feel like crying because I have to wait about half an hour for websites to open and an hour for 1 minute long YouTube vids.

An outlet for thinking

I just finished reading a book that Jenny let me borrow.
It's about 2AM at the moment and I've just finished reading it and I'm not tired because I spent practically half of the day sleeping.
I guess I just felt like writing something about what I was feeling at this very moment. There are so many things that I want to say but I just feel like it'll be a superficial thing to say, just in case other people may feel the same way at times.
I just don't feel like I should be copying other peoples' feelings.

Sometimes I hope that my closest friends know how much I appreciate them for being my friend. I don't even want them to read it in case it just sounds really tacky or insincere, but I read something about a man who always let everyone know how he felt about them, and he would be happy if he were to pass on because he'd know that they knew how much they meant to him. And I guess I want to always have in the back of my mind that the people that matter most to me know how much they mean to me, even if I'm afraid to admit it. I sometimes feel unworthy of even having them there and I put them up on a pedastool because I just think that they're the most wonderful people that anyone can get to know, and if anyone does get the chance to know them as well as I do, they'll be very lucky people.
These people are two very close friends of mine. I don't know what else to say because if I try too much, I know it's not what I actually want to say. If they were reading this, I'd want it to be perfect. But I just can't think of what else I can say. I just hope that it's not one of those friendships that fade. I hope it stays the same over the years.

To my not so close friends, thank you for putting up with me. I know I'm a very distant person sometimes but I guess you just haven't seen the real me yet. Maybe you will someday. I hope you do.
To my friends who are disappointed that I didn't mention them, I'm sorry. I am quite close to alot of people but I just felt it necessary to write something about them. You should know that I appreciate that you're even my friend!

To my family, I love you guys so much. I couldn't think of another family like us. I'm proud to be apart of this family because of how close we are. I know that there have been some bad times but we always get over it. To my Dad, I know that I'm probably not the daughter that you would've wished for because I'm as stubborn as you are. I'm the only one that will fight back to you even though my sister and my brothers tell me not to egg you on because I just feel like I should stand up for what I think is right. I hope you're proud of me though, even if I'm not the ideal daughter of yours. To my mum, I'd like to thank you more than dad, even though I should love you both equally the same. I do, but I just think there's more to thank you for. I know I'm really hard to handle sometimes (most of the time) and I thank you for not throwing me out a window or something. Thanks for being my friend at around the time Vy spent less time with me and more time with her other friends. Thankyou for everything that you have done for me.

To my big brother Huan, we aren't as close but when we get to talk seriously then it makes me happy. I don't think you know how much I love it when we get to have some special time together or we just click, because when that happens, everything just feels right. And that is with all of the other people I click with. Thanks for being the joker of the family, I learnt my stuff from you.

To my other big brother Vuong, over the past few weeks since Tabby has gone, we have spent alot more time together. Especially since Vy wasn't there either. Thank you for being there and being able to feel comfortable just hanging out with me because I don't think that many brothers and sisters do that these days, especially those with our age gap, even though it's not very far. I find it very special to hear these stories that you tell me because I feel that it's something personal, especially coming from you. I'm glad I could be there to listen to all of your stories and aspirations. I wish you get everything that you want. (You'll be my dietition one day!)

I felt it was necessary to leave you as the last "family member" I wrote to. To my bigger sister Vy. Thank you for being there for me. Thank you for trying to understand me when you can't. Don't think that I'm just being another teenage girl going through different dramas when I talk to you and tell you stories, listen to me. Think of me as your little sister and as someone different from all those out there. I think I want to be separated from them and not be included, even though sometimes I do feel like I want to be included. We are probably the closest sisters I know. I love that our whole family is probably the closest (relationship wise). This isn't the most perfect thing to write about you, but I hope you already know what you mean. You've helped me for so long and I just wish you get whatever you want... and I know you do anyways!

In conclusion, I have come to realise that I feel bad about mostly everything. When it comes down to it, I always find the negative things in what I think about... but I don't want to. I know I'm probably built that way and if I tried to change that, I wouldn't be able to, but I can always hope. This blog entry is very long, and I have a feeling that people won't read it, which is a good thing... because I want to read this when I forget how things mean to me.

I will re-read this tomorrow and hopefully I don't regret writing this.

Unfortunately, I do not live in the US or Canada. Therefore, I fail.

The Arctic Monkeys'

concert is in THREE days.
I just read that they were here since NYE.
They snuck into Sydney (in the northern beaches) for the hot Aussie summer.
What a bummer that I didn't know that before (just... to be aware of this stuff. I SWEAR! Not for any stalking purposes..).
They're on tour now for the Big Day Out shows.
So they aren't in Sydney at the moment but they WILL be soon!

laziness at its best

My brother has this whole set up.
His massive desktop screen is adjustable so you can move the screen to face you and move it up and down and all that.
I currently have it facing me, whilst sitting on his bed with his wirelss keyboard and mouse..
His mouse also has this right click button that zooms in on things and I'm using it to look at certain things and yeah.
I'm also currently listening to Empire of the sun - walking on a dream, which is really soothing.

Favourite bands

Well... usually I'd say that my favourite band of all time is Arctic Monkeys.
But that doesn't mean I listen to them all the time!
I hardly ever listen to them anymore but I guess that's because I want to save that for the concert.
But after The Kooks' concert, I've been listening to their music more and more.
That's strange, but I guess I always fall in love with a band after I've seen them play live.

Anyways, I was browsing the Triple J site and found The Kooks' Like a Version.
They played a cover of MGMT's kids. They made the song "the kooks'" style.
I love it! Well I love both versions, but at the moment, The Kooks is kicking butt!
